Newsquest members announce strike action on pay
NUJ members at Newsquest South East Essex plan to take action about pay at the end of January. Members of the chapel voted overwhelmingly in favour (90.5%) of the strike action and action short of a strike (95.2%) on the grounds that the company had introduced yet another pay freeze. NUJ puts in 'fair' pay claim to BBC
The NUJ has submitted a joint pay claim, with Bectu and Unite, to the BBC calling for an increase of RPI plus 2 per cent, with a minimum increase of PST1,000. The claim is for all staff employed in bands 2 to 11 and includes a demand for the reinstatement of salary appeals and for a place on the BBC's Executive Remuneration Committee.
